Stranded Colorwork Knitting Class
Take your knitting to the next level as you build confidence working with intricate, colorful motifs. In this class, you’ll learn the essential techniques needed for successful stranded colorwork, with a focus on creating even stitches and beautifully balanced designs.
We’ll be making the fabulous Ooey Gooey Cowl by Andrea Mowry, a fun and engaging project that’s perfect for practicing and mastering stranded colorwork techniques.
You’ll learn how to:
Work a provisional cast-on
Knit with multiple colors in a single row, including effective yarn-handling techniques
Read and follow colorwork charts and symbols
Manage tension and control floats on the wrong side
Graft stitches together for a polished finish
This class is ideal for knitters looking to expand their skills and confidently explore colorwork.
Skill Level: Advance Beginner/Intermediate knitters who are comfortable with knit, purl, and working in the round.

Yarn:
Main color: 300 yards sport or DK weight yarn
Contrast color: 492 yards lace weight (mohair or suri alpaca, held double)
another sport or DK weight yarn can be substituted for the lace weight held doubleNeedles: US 4, 16" circular needle and a spare needle of the same size for finishing

Christine has been knitting for almost 20 years and crocheting for close to 30. While she makes all things ranging from socks to shawls to stuffed toys, her favorite thing to knit is a sweater. On the rare occasion she is not knitting, you can find Christine gardening, baking sourdough, running, or at Disney.
