Don’t Toss It, Transform It! The Art of Creative Mending

Discover the art of repair as a form of creative expression while learning skills that can help extend the life of your favorite clothing and keep well-loved pieces in use. We’ll cover stitches for hemming, reverse appliqué, and an introduction to darning, along with sashiko, a Japanese stitching tradition that uses simple running stitches to create beautiful, intricate designs. You’ll leave with approachable mending techniques you can return to again and again.

Guided by Teaching Artist Jenny Santa Maria, this workshop treats needlework as both a useful life skill and a creative, empowering act of care. All materials included.
