Beyond the Basics 2: Knit Your First Hat- Thursdays, March 19 & 26 from 5:30 pm - 7 pm
Get ready to knit your first hat! 🧶
We’ll be making The Backyard Beanie by Kneedles & Love — a stylish worsted-weight design that’s lightweight, versatile, and perfect for everyday wear. Even better? It’s reversible, so you can flip it inside out for a completely different texture. ✨
In this class, you’ll learn:
How to knit in the round
How to decrease neatly along the crown
How to read and follow a knitting pattern with confidence
Finishing techniques for a polished look
How to make a pom pom or tassel to top off your hat
By the end, you’ll have the skills — and the confidence — to knit even more hats on your own! 🧶
Skill Level: Must be able to cast-on, knit, purl, bind-off (must have some knitting experience or taken a Beginner Knit class)
Class price: $60 (includes pattern) + materials
Class Schedule: 2-part class. Each session is 90 minutes.

Class Materials:
Pattern (supplied) The Backyard Beanie by Kneedles & Love
Needles: US 7 needles, 16”
Yarn: 1 skein worsted weight - 120 yards
Notions: stitch markers, darning needle
We ask that all yarn for classes be purchased in the shop. 10% discount will be applied. Materials can be purchased at the shop prior to class.

All classes must be paid in advance. If you need to cancel, please do so at least 48 hours before the start of class. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the class start time, as well as missed classes, are not eligible for store credit. No exceptions.
Class Size: 6 person max. Must have two registered for class to occur.

Lisa has been knitting for over 10 years and brings a warm, encouraging teaching style to every class. She’s a recent (and very welcome!) addition to The Creative Knot team and loves helping new knitters build confidence and enjoy the creative process.
