Learn every step of stranded colorwork sweater knitting—from selecting the perfect fit to mastering color changes, reading charts, and creating smooth, even floats.

Have you ever dreamed of knitting your own colorwork sweater with beautiful motifs? Join us for this stranded colorwork, top-down sweater series!

In this series, you'll learn:

- How to properly measure to choose your perfect fit and understand ease.

- Knit with more than one color in a row, including how to hold the yarn for stranded colorwork.

- Read colorwork charts and symbols.

- Tackle tension and manage "floats".

- Explore color theory basics.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner/Intermediate knitters who are comfortable with knit, purl, and working in the round

Class Materials: 

Yarn:
DK weight yarn in two contrasting colors:
Main color: 815-1787 yards
Contrasting color: 133-290 yards

We ask that all yarn for classes be purchased in the shop. 10% discount will be applied. Materials can be purchased at the shop prior to class.

Needles:  

US 6/4 mm –24”/60 cm to 40”/100 cm circular and preferred needles for small circumference
US 4/3.5 mm - 16”/40 cm circular for collar and preferred needles for small circumference for cuffs

Scissors
waste yarn or stitch holders

Christine has been knitting for almost 20 years and crocheting for close to 30. While she makes all things ranging from socks to shawls to stuffed toys, her favorite thing to knit is a sweater. On the rare occasion she is not knitting, you can find Christine gardening, baking sourdough, running, or at Disney.
