“Chouette” Owl Hat - Wednesdays, September 10 & 17, 10 am - 11:30 am

Join us for a delightful two-part class where you'll learn how to create the adorable “Chouette” Owl Hat, designed by Ekaterina Blanchard. This cute, warm hat works up quickly, making it an excellent gift idea for loved ones of all ages. The pattern includes sizes for toddler, child, adult small, and adult medium.

Whether you're stitching it up for yourself or someone special, this project is a fun and cozy way to build your skills and create something truly memorable.

What you’ll learn:

  • Chart Reading

  • Cables

  • 3-Needle Bind-off

  • Creating & joining tassels

Class 1: Pattern Overview, Casting On, Chart reading, CablesExplore the pattern, discuss hat construction, and get started with casting on and knitting the hat body.

Class 2: Finishing: Finish the hat by learning how to bind off using the 3-needle bind-off method, make tassels, sew on eyes and weaving in ends. Discussion on blocking techniques.

Skill Level
Advanced beginner. Must know how to cast on, knit, purl, knit in the round and basic bind off.

Class price: $60+ materials.

All yarn must be purchased at The Creative Knot. A 10% discount will be given to all class supplies.

Class Schedule: 2part class. Each session is 90 minutes.

Pattern: Provided

Yarn: Berroco Vintage Chunky (50-100g depending on size desired) or comparable chunky yarn

Needles: US 10 16” Circulars

Notions: Stitch markers, tapestry/darning needle                   

We ask that all yarn for classes be purchased in the shop. 10% discount will be applied. Materials can be purchased at the shop prior to class.

Class Size: 6 person max. Must have two registered for class to occur.

Donna Schmitt, @knitwithattitude (Ravelry), @knittingwithattitude (IG) & www.knittingwithattitude.com is your instructor for this class. Donna learned both knit & crochet as a child, and has fallen back in love with both (knitting for 15+ years, crocheting for 3+). Donna loves to knit & crochet pretty much everything she can get her hands on, including blankets, hats, shawls, cowls, fingerless mitts, tops & sweaters.  She loves anything fiber-related and also felts, dyes yarn, embroiders, and loves needlepoint & crewelwork.
